Resting 3 minutes.
Interesting stuff…
Uploading first and last sets for comparison. May need to adjust the camera angle for next time.
Missed the RPE target here I think but didn’t feel too bad.
Set 1 was tough. Still getting used to the movements.
Went double overhand from set 2. Found that I can, (kinda, sorta, strongman style), clean the bar to the rack position so stuck with that.
Set 4 managed to catch the bar on my belt on rep 1.
Interesting start. I can see myself utilising the continental clean more as weight and fatigue increase.
Summary
Solid morning today.
Both squats and axle all good but lots to learn on the latter.
Lois back again making some good progress.
Squat, Press and chins today. Main focus being on press form.
Resting 3 minutes.
14/16.
Feeling good and solid here.
Second set was 14 then 2.
No issues.
Sand Bag Carry/Chin Up 1 x 10 minutes @ 60/BW
Only completed 7 minutes.
Surprised by how difficult it is getting a breath in with the bag on the chest.
Need to look into this and see how the bigger kids do it.
Felt ok despite that.
Switched to push ups on the break points as chins failed. Holding the bag in place seemed to take more out the biceps than I expected.
Summary
All good today.
No issues in the back/hips following the sandbag carry.
No physio ab work today. Prescription is 3x per week so attempting to offset from our training where possible.
Resting 2 minutes.
Pulling from the floor feeling pretty good.
Taking plenty of time to feel it out though.
All moved pretty nicely.
Bench 4 x 5 @ 77.5
Resting 2 minutes.
All good here.
Summary
All good today.
Finishing off with my physio ab work for the week.
2×15 band pull tabletop hover
2×12 pallof press + 12 wood chop + 30 sec ISO hold
2×15 bulgarian split squat
2×12 raised lateral lunge
2×15 clams + 10 straight leg lifts
Resting 2 minutes.
Warmup sets 60×5 and 100×5.
Switched to mix grip after 2 reps on the top set.
All felt nice and smooth.
Log Clean and Press 5 x 3 @ 50
Resting 2 minutes.
Feeling good here.
Going to need to work on breathing here. Breathed out with the log on the chest makes it almost impossible to get a breath in for the press.
Got a tip for this at the seminar with Mitch and Loz where you can lift the elbows more to make some space to breathe so will keep working on that.
Also need to keep an eye out on some crash pads or old tyres to rest the log on.
Summary
All good today.
Block Pulls feeling nice and smooth and Log also moving nicely.
Feeling some mild hamstring cramp on the later log reps.
Started yesterday afternoon after physio.
I’m putting it down to the humidity the last couple of days. Need to hydrate better!
Next up… 1000m farmers carry back from Lidl.
